The mBall Series started in 1999. They are a collection of fields for imaginary sports. Designed within the visual grammar of existing sports fields, the lines suggest there are unknown rules for the game to be played there. Some of the characteristics of the rules are already suggested by the field design: is it a game for single players or groups, do they play opposite each other (as in tennis) or alternating (as in baseball), is it a faster or a slower game... People are invited to make up the rules themselves, and play their self-created sport.
