Ladder view

Mechanics, side view. The central disk only rotates counter-clockwise, but can slide straight up and down.

Mechanics, front view. The red cable pulls out three steel plugs on both sides simultaneously. Small plastic hooks at the end of the plugs (that keep the plugs in place during transport) break off in the process.

At the end of the Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus, Ludwig Wittgenstein describes the book as a ladder, that one should throw away after climbing it.

This ladder has now materialised: The Traptatus. Every time you lift your foot up from a step of the ladder, that step breaks off and falls on the floor. After the final step of your climb, the last step falls down as well, together with the now unsupported side bars: the ladder has been thrown away.

Minimum user weight requirement: 60kg.

One time use only. Enjoy the view.

Available in the boutique.
